Hope is the one word answer as to why I founded this company. As my vision became reality, that hope changed and grew. Here is the path it took:

Hope that there was a better way to reach patients—particularly those that either had a long road to recovery or were fighting to maintain their lifestyle in the face of a chronic disease.

Hope that going home, doing exercises, and walking laps did not have to be patients’ end-all goal. Hope that the patients who worked so hard to be able to take their first steps again would not be abandoned when released from a rehab setting.

Hope that we could break the endless cycle of hospital re-admissions for people with chronic conditions.

Hope that disease would no longer define our patients. When patients imagined their goals, they would be able to see past just walking or standing. They would work towards being able to live again, enjoying activities like walking the dog, grilling outside, returning to work, or reading to their grandchildren.

That is when it hit me: the standard mindset for injury and disease management is to give the pain control over your life. That mindset proves detrimental in the long run, causing you to lose sight of yourself and your dreams in favor of focusing on your limitations.

We want to change that.

How? We work with you, at your ability, to figure out achievable goals, give you equipment, and find a way to modify activity to be safe for you to participate in right now. That is your home program: being able to safely participate in the things that matter to you.

We understand that progress can be slow, but often steady, and that insurance policies can limit sessions. We use a combination of group activity and community classes to space treatment sessions out and allow progress to continue. Community classes also allow us to keep our eyes on patients to suggest therapy intervention (if needed) before weakness or balance issues cause serious problems.
